Letter from COL Larry Mrozinski
Posted by chris on Aug 14, 2012Obama Is Listening Carefully to Georgia’s Republicans
The April Georgia Republican Party Grassroots newsletter and the May 18-19, GAGOP Convention Veteran/National Security speech (YOUTUBE “Call to Veterans”) outlined the criticality of where we are in solving the staggering backlog of our veterans claims. Recent comments by the President, Secretary of Veterans Affairs and pundits all clearly indicate they have all along been paying lip service and pandering to veterans and their families for the last three and half years and are now caught playing their tune in the proverbial band aide parade……..’How do we cover up being AWOL and lack of prioritizing solutions one more time on veterans?’ Obama and his Administration are listening to Georgia’s Republican Party.
Where is the proof? Secretary Eric Shinseki addressed the prestigious and largest member veteran’s organization in the nation at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) annual convention in Reno Nevada, July 24, 2012. Shinseki stated that the President directed on July 23, 2012, “solve the backlog”. All the proof we need to understand his election campaign cannot be bogged down with such trivial ankle biters………well, we and America’s families are not going away nor the nearly one million veterans standing in line and waiting to cast their November 2012 ballot for the Republican Party President and the next Commander-in-Chief of the United States military.
To further drive home the point of a disingenuous and a lethargic administration, Obama recently stated on the campaign trail in Virginia Beach: “I am running for President because there are a lot of folks in Virginia who have served us in uniform with such bravery and dedication and patriotism, and I want us to keep faith with our troops and make sure that our veterans get the benefits that they have earned”. Oh really? According to Shinseki and his Monday through Friday schedule, our veterans will not see light at the end of the tunnel until 2015. This is not a solution, this is procrastination laid bare. We are in a crisis so where is the Executive Order to hire more personnel to handle the claims now? With over 23 million veterans living in America, this administration wants to embrace “their brand of national security” by asking you to wait nearly three more years to fix it for those who exemplify national security…our Veterans and the families who support and wait while this administration waits to find adults to fix it.
This all comes on top of the fact they made no future preparations or plans for bring our troops home from Iraq that included their post combat welfare and promised benefits.
With every problem a good leader will offer one or more thoughtful solutions. With all the pseudo experts, panels, political pundits paid for talking points or those who never served and do not understand selfless-sacrifice which mirrors what this administration has hobbled together, they still have not figured out the solution is directly at hand. So since this Administration has seen fit to not apply any sincere effort to alleviate our veteran’s backlog, reach across the aisle and embrace solutions, they will just have to wait and read the Republican Party Platform at the end of August for the blue print of success that will address our veteran’s calls and once and for all fix this needless mess……………….23 million Veterans and their families will remember in 2012!
