From The Chairman’s Desk

Dear Friends,

Now, more than ever, we must not let up on the gas-pedal; it is imperative that we continue our around-the-clock efforts to send President Obama back to Chicago. It is due time for conservative principles to return to the White House, and you can help!

As we move ever-closer to November 6th, the Georgia Republican Party has made it our mission to promote and grow our Party’s online presence throughout our county parties and local conservative supporters across the State of Georgia. Virtual expansion is no longer an option for the GOP nationally and locally; it is the key to success in current and future elections on all levels.

For our Party, to have anything less than a strong, active online presence would fall short of our mission and would undoubtedly give the Democrats the edge they need to continue their influence.

Letter from 4th District Republican Nominee Chris Vaughn

Fellow Republicans,

Like many of you, I tuned into the Democratic National Convention and watched the parliamentary activities following the outrage once the American public discovered the removal of God from the Democratic Platform. I know I shouldn’t be shocked as secular radicals have been working diligently for decades to remove God from our public schools, government and government buildings. As the party bosses revised the language of their platform to protect their political futures, over the clear majority of the voices representing their party that day, it served as a solemn reminder that our country currently faces a real battle in 2012.

In fact, one of our own members of Congress from Georgia has been a consistent offender in the attempt to disrupt the very fabric of our history as a nation. He was only one of nine congressmen to vote against “In God We Trust” as our National motto. Yes, that congressman is my opponent from Georgia’s Fourth District, Hank Johnson.

Chairman Everhart: We Will Never Forget: Remembering September 11, 2001

It is somewhat hard to believe that eleven years have passed since the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. As with so many other Americans, I will always remember where I was as our nation was forever changed on that fateful autumn day. As we mark the somber anniversary of this tragedy, I ask that all Georgians join me in pausing to remember the lives lost and sacrifices made in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Shanksville, PA.

Though much has changed over the course of the past eleven years, both in America and around the globe, one constant has remained: the unwavering, impenetrable belief that America is the greatest nation our world has ever seen. That is why we will continue to fight, as we have every day since our nation was born, to protect the freedoms that the United States of America epitomizes.

Sponsor the Paulding GOP Golf Tournament!

Please review the following letter from the Paulding County Republican Party Chairman Joseph Gullett:

Small business owners — YOU built it, and we need YOUR help!

As the Chairman of the Paulding GOP, I have had the privilege to meet and to work with many of our community’s small business owners. These hardworking and tenacious men and women are an inspiration and are the living proof that the American dream is still alive and well right here in Paulding County. Today I would like to reach out to our small business owners and ask for your help. Our annual golf tournament is just around the corner, and we are in need of hole sponsors to help us achieve our goal.

Sponsoring a hole in our annual golf tournament is a way to directly reach the potential customers who know and understand that small businesses are the backbone of our community. I hope that this golf tournament can be the first of many occasions for the Paulding GOP to work hand-in-hand with our community’s entrepreneurs for our mutual benefit.

Even if you do not currently own a business, you can still play a huge role in our success. Reach out to the business owners you know, be it a friend, family member or an acquaintance from another group or organization. Often times, business owners are eager to get involved but simply do not know where to start. You have the opportunity to forge a connection between local businesses and the party that supports the policies that will help businesses thrive.

“We’ve Heard It All Before” (2012 DNC Edition)

The Republican National Committee is out with a new video “We’ve Heard It All Before (DNC Edition)” showing how President Obama’s Thursday speech at the DNC was no different than what he’s been saying the last four years. President Obama offered more of the same and was unable to defend his failed economic record.

Please click above to watch the Republican National Committee’s latest web video!

“President Obama does not have anything left except excuses,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “He proved at the DNC that hope is fading fast and change is gone. President Obama has no tangible plan to fix our economy. He is offering more of the same failed policies that have not turned our economy around. He continues to recite the same tired excuses for his inability to keep the promises he made to the American people. We need someone with a proven track record of solving problems in the White House, not a fading rock star with nothing new to offer.”

In the Headlines: Senator Chambliss sounds alarm on deficit threat

Political leaders must confront the rising national budget deficit before it’s too late, according to U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss of Georgia.

The deficit totals nearly $17 trillion and has now reached about 63 percent of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product, Chambliss said Friday night in the Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

The Republican senator from Moultrie was the keynote speaker at a banquet marking the 10th anniversary of the University of Georgia’s School of Public and International Affairs.

“Ninety percent is the tipping point from which there is no return,” he said of the national debt. “This is the issue of our time.”

9th District Chairman Andrew Turnage: “The Powerful Ninth”

Fellow Republicans,

Congratulations to Georgia’s newest member of Congress, Representative Doug Collins of Gainesville, Georgia in Hall County who will represent the new Ninth Congressional District (GA-9) in Washington, D.C.! Collins represented Georgia House District 27 which includes portions of Hall, Lumpkin, and White counties. A former small business owner and current managing partner at Collins & Csider, Doug practices law in Gainesville while serving as a Chaplain in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He is presently serving his third term in the Georgia House and was named one of Governor Deal’s Floor Leaders in January 2011. Doug and his wife Lisa, a school teacher, have been married 23 years. They have three children; a daughter, Jordan, 19 and two boys, Copelan, 15, and Cameron, 13. They are members of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville.

The Ninth District, dubbed “The Powerful Ninth” by Secretary of State Brian Kemp for the many statewide Republican elected officials that reside within it, was formed in 2011 following the state-wide congressional redistricting…

In Memoriam

This week, the Georgia Republican Party mourned the passing of a friend very close to our hearts, Otis Brumby.

Described as a hard-charging newspaperman whose influence helped shape modern Cobb County, Otis passed away on Saturday at the age of 72. As the long-time publisher of the Marietta Daily Journal, he shaped the way that so many of us would receive our news for many years. Otis is survived by his wife, Martha Lee, daughters Spain, Lee, Betsy and Anna, son Otis III and 11 grandchildren.

Many Georgia Republican paid tribute to Otis Brumby this week, including:

Governor Nathan Deal: “Otis was one of the most influential Georgians of his generation. Even as we mourn his loss, we celebrate his life, his accomplishments and his contributions to our beloved state.”

Lt. Governor Casey Cagle: “He was a great leader, and he led with passion, and he led on issues that were sometimes very controversial, but they were always rooted in principle, and I think that is the thing that I have always admired most about him.”

Attorney General Sam Olens: “Mr. Brumby was a great teacher and mentor. His love of the First Amendment and his desire for elected officials to be held accountable are much appreciated. His leadership for our community was essential to its success over many decades.”

Otis Brumby will be missed by all who had the distinct pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace.

Help Lead the Charge Today!

The Georgia Republican Party is fully committed to electing a Republican President in 2012. However, Victory won’t be achieved simply because we won the last elections. Victory can only be achieved by working hard each and every day to win the next elections. President Obama and the Democrats are targeting Georgia and could spend as much as $30 million to win our state. There’s too much at stake to leave this election to chance. Please consider contributing $15, $25, $50 or any amount to help Georgia do its part to send Barack Obama back to Chicago!
