Message from Chairman Sue P. Everhart – June 13, 2012

Chairman Sue Everhart

Dear Friends,

It is no secret that this year’s Republican Presidential Primary has been one of the most unpredictable, exciting and spirited in our Party’s history. Through the many highs and lows of the race to be the Republican nominee, we have played witness to a truly remarkable campaign.

As a Republican, I could not be happier with our Party’s nominee heading in to the most important election in my lifetime. Governor Mitt Romney has shown time after time that he possesses a fundamental knowledge of the American economy – something that has escaped Barack Obama for much of the past four years. This November will be a pocketbook election, and Governor Romney is unquestionably the superior candidate to lead our country towards prosperity.

Letter from GTCR Chairman Ellie Smith

GTCR

Fellow Republicans,

This is the first time that I am formally introducing myself to many of you. My name is Ellie Smith, I am a third year HTS major and Public Policy minor here at Georgia Tech, I am from Marietta and I am very proud to be this year’s Chairman of the Georgia Tech chapter of the College Republicans.

This is an exciting year for the conservative movement and the Republican party and I, along with the rest of the Executive Board, am very excited about the role that GTCRs can have in taking down Obama this fall. We want to start the year off with a lot of new members and Vice Chair Andrew Mullins has been working tirelessly to organize our FASET efforts.

If you are interested in getting involved please contact him at vicechair@gtrepublicans.com or Executive Director Emily Jones at execdir@gtrepublicans.com In addition to our FASET efforts we are working on a great kick-off meeting that will hopefully feature a wide array of Republican leaders from throughout the state as we focus on the jobs crisis for graduating college students and how detrimental another four years of Obama could be.

Father’s Day Reflections from Governor Nathan Deal

“Everyone has a father, but not everyone is lucky enough to have a dad. I had a dad, a loving mentor who took an active interest in my life, taught me values and set a model to follow. I often thought back on his example when charting my own course as a parent to my four children. Father’s Day is a special time when I can reflect on two of my most important roles in life, as a grateful son and a proud dad. Sandra and I hope all Georgians get a chance this Father’s Day to spend time with someone special who’s made a difference in their lives.” – Governor Nathan Deal

Flag Day – June 14th

On Thursday, June 14th, we will honor the Flag of the United States of America in recognition of Flag Day. I encourage each of you to fly your Red, White and Blue with pride, as we reflect upon and remember the meaning of the Stars & Stripes.

“If anyone, then, asks me the meaning of our flag, I say to him – it means just what Concord and Lexington meant; what Bunker Hill meant; which was, in short, the rising up of a valiant young people against an old tyranny to establish the most momentous doctrine that the world had ever known – the right of men to their own selves and to their liberties.” – Henry Ward Beecher

This month, the Georgia Republican Party mourned the passing of two dear friends, Mrs. Jane Teasley of Blue Ridge and Mr. William Beamon, Sr. of Woodbury.

The mother of Georgia Republican State Representative Sam Teasley, Jane is also survived by her husband, Howell. A dear friend to so many in Georgia, Jane’s presence will be sorely missed. The family request that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to Mountain Area Christian Academy, 14090 Old Highway 76, Morganton, Ga. 30560.

A Georgia native, Mr. Beamon is the father of Coweta County GOP Chairman Joseph Beamon. A proud U.S. Air Force Veteran, William was an active member of the Woodbury Baptist Church. May they Rest in Peace.

The Georgia Republican Party also asks that you join us in keeping Bo Callaway in your thoughts and prayers, as he has been hospitalized this week. Help Lead the Charge Today!

The Georgia Republican Party is fully committed to electing a Republican President in 2012. However, Victory won’t be achieved simply because we won the last elections. Victory can only be achieved by working hard each and every day to win the next elections. President Obama and the Democrats are targeting Georgia and could spend as much as $30 million to win our state. There’s too much at stake to leave this election to chance. Please consider contributing $15, $25, $50 or any amount to help Georgia do its part to send Barack Obama back to Chicago!
