From The Chairman’s Desk
Greetings from Tampa Bay! Since Monday, I have been working tirelessly with fellow Republicans, including our very own Attorney General Sam Olens, on the Republican National Convention Platform Committee. Over the course of the past two days, we drafted, debated, amended and ultimately voted on a Platform to guide our Party over the next four years. Focusing on a wide variety of pillars upon the foundations of which our Party stands, the Platform will set a course for the Republican Party leaders and voters, alike, to direct our country towards prosperity once again. The Platform will be voted upon by the full Republican National Convention next week, and I look forward to sharing it with each of you in the very near future! Let’s Cover Georgia: A Sign in Every Yard, a Sign on Every Corner This election is a battle for the core values of America. Do we want a country of and by Washington…or a nation of and by a free people? For us to continue to live in a free America, we MUST replace Barack Obama. The GAGOP is the only entity in the state fully committed to electing a Republican President. Help us spread our message to every corner of our state! With a contribution of just… $5, you can help buy three yard signs. $25, you can help buy fourteen yard signs. $100, you can help buy fifty-nine yard signs. And with a contribution of $1,000, you can help buy enough yard signs so that every Republican in an entire precinct can proudly display their strong Republican support! Let’s cover Georgia! Click here to help our Party put a sign in every yard across Georgia! ICYMI: Letter From COL Larry Mrozinski
The April Georgia Republican Party Grassroots newsletter and the May 18-19, GAGOP Convention Veteran/National Security speech outlined the criticality of where we are in solving the staggering backlog of our veterans claims. Recent comments by the President, Secretary of Veterans Affairs and pundits all clearly indicate they have all along been paying lip service and pandering to veterans and their families for the last three and half years and are now caught playing their tune in the proverbial band aide parade… How do we cover up being AWOL and lack of prioritizing solutions one more time on veterans? Obama and his Administration are listening to Georgia’s Republican Party. Connect With Our Republican Congressional Candidates! College Republicans Launch Historic Youth Grassroots Effort for GOP Today the College Republican National Committee launched 63 full-time, paid field representatives into targeted races in battleground states across the country to campaign for GOP candidates. Today there are sixty-three full time College Republican field reps on college campuses around the country. Stealing a line from our National Chairman, Alex Schriver, “College Republicans are the boots on the ground, the unions for the right.” Obama & Barrow: Hand-in-Hand In a new television ad, the National Republican Congressional Committee exposes the dangerous bond between President Obama and John Barrow. Together, their job-destroying policies have increased taxes on Georgia small businesses and jeopardized access to healthcare for hard-working families. Please click above to watch the National Republican Congressional Committee’s new web video, “Barack and John” “It’s important to John Barrow to work hand-in-hand with President Obama, even at the cost of further crippling the Georgia economy,” said NRCC Communications Director Paul Lindsay. “By keeping ObamaCare’s job-crushing tax hikes, Georgians are paying a steep price for John Barrow’s unwavering support of Obama’s big-government healthcare takeover.” Columbia County GOP Headquarters Opens Saturday Please see the following news from Dewey Galeas, Chairman of the Columbia County Republican Party: We are only a few days away from the 2012 Republican National Convention where our Presidential nominee will be officially chosen. In the Headlines: Chambliss warns of impact of automatic spending cuts “Sequestration” is a Washington buzzword people often don’t understand, said U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss, so he and other members of Georgia’s congressional delegation came to Warner Robins on Tuesday to put it in plainer terms. It all refers to $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts over a 10-year period slated to kick in Jan. 2 unless Congress reaches an alternative agreement. Of those cuts, $492 billion would come from the military. “When defense spending is impacted in a way that is projected with sequestration, that’s not just going to trickle down to the local community, it’s going to fall down,” Chambliss said. In Memoriam On Friday, the Georgia Republican lost a dear friend and long-time colleague, as Mrs. Betty L. Taylor passed away at the age of 88. A lifelong Republican and dedicated member of the Spalding County Republican Party and the 3rd District Republican Committee, Betty and her late husband Ivan were a constant presence for our Party over the past few decades. She is survived by her Son, David Taylor, as well as four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Though she is no longer with us, Mrs. Taylor will be fondly remembered by many long after her departure. The thoughts and prayers of the Georgia Republican family are with her family and friends. May she rest in peace. If so, we would love to hear about the details and share them with Republicans all across Georgia! Send your events and photos to Chris Kelleher at Chris@gagop.org, and keep an eye out for your organization to be featured in a future GAGOP Newsletter! Help Lead the Charge Today! The Georgia Republican Party is fully committed to electing a Republican President in 2012. However, Victory won’t be achieved simply because we won the last elections. Victory can only be achieved by working hard each and every day to win the next elections. President Obama and the Democrats are targeting Georgia and could spend as much as $30 million to win our state. There’s too much at stake to leave this election to chance. Please consider contributing $15, $25, $50 or any amount to help Georgia do its part to send Barack Obama back to Chicago! |
