This election is a battle for the core values of America. Do we want a country of and by Washington…or a nation of and by a free people? For us to continue to live in a free America, we MUST replace Barack Obama.

The GAGOP is the only entity in the state fully committed to electing a Republican President. Help us spread our message to every corner of our state! With a contribution of just…

$5, you can help buy three yard signs.

$25, you can help buy fourteen yard signs.

$100, you can help buy fifty-nine yard signs.

And with a contribution of $1,000, you can help buy enough yard signs so that every Republican in an entire precinct can proudly display their strong Republican support!

Letter From National Committeeman Alec Poitevint

Fellow Republicans,

THANK YOU! If no other message is remembered from this e-mail, let it be an expression of gratitude to all of you, my fellow Georgia Republicans. You have honored me many times, and I deeply appreciate it. Four times, you elected me as your State Party Chairman. Another five times, you selected me to serve as National Committeeman, representing you on the Republican National Committee (RNC). Through the years, we have worked hard together and been part of achieving great victories.

When we started together these many years ago, being a Georgia Republican defined being a minority. Now, we can say with pride that every statewide office is held by a Republican, the State House and State Senate are controlled by Republicans, both U.S. Senators are Republican, as is an overwhelming majority of the Congressional Delegation. Only with continued dedication can we hope to enjoy success in the future. I know I can depend on you, and you on me.

We are only days away from gathering in Tampa for the National Convention. It has been a privilege to be the Chairman of the Committee on Arrangements (COA)—the group responsible for officially conducting this tremendous event. When the Convention gavels to a close on Thursday night, August 30, it will mark the end of my service on the Republican National Committee.

Letter From COL Larry Mrozinski

Obama Is Listening Carefully to Georgia’s Republicans

The April Georgia Republican Party Grassroots Newsletter and the May 18-19, GAGOP Convention Veteran/National Security speech (YOUTUBE “Call to Veterans) outlined the criticality of where we are in solving the staggering backlog of our veterans claims. Recent comments by the President, Secretary of Veterans Affairs and pundits all clearly indicate they have all along been paying lip service and pandering to veterans and their families for the last three and half years and are now caught playing their tune in the proverbial band aide parade……..’How do we cover up being AWOL and lack of prioritizing solutions one more time on veterans?’ Obama and his Administration are listening to Georgia’s Republican Party.

Big Solutions

This week, the Republican National Committee released “Big Solutions” showcasing the Romney-Ryan team that will get this country back on track. After four years of a weak economy, soaring deficits and misplaced priorities, Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are dedicated to bringing America back.

Please click above to watch the Republican National Committee’s new web video, “Big Solutions”

“Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will bring the kind of leadership and economic reform that this country desperately needs,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “They have the knowledge, expertise and vision we need to get America working again and get our fiscal house in order. Both have proven records of solving tough problems and getting the job done. America’s Comeback Team stands in stark contrast to four years of failed economic policies and misplaced priorities of President Obama and Vice President Biden. Governor Romney and Congressman Ryan is what America needs in these troubled economic times to get our country back on track.”

Oconee GOP Hosting Campaign HQ Open House

On Thursday, August 16th, the Oconee County Republican Party will be hosting an open house and ribbon cutting for their new headquarters! The county’s headquarters has been a work in progress since the beginning of the year, and will officially open for business in September.

In Georgia, Oconee County has built a superb conservative reputation by voting Republican for the past 32 years. In the last two Presidential Elections, Republican candidates have carried the county by 70%, and many expect the Romney-Ryan ticket to carry just as well, if not better, come November.

Oconee County Chairman Jay Hanley invites all friends, families and supporters in the surrounding and local areas to come enjoy the occasion!

In the Headlines: Buckhead Resident Key Player in Romney Campaign

Eric Tanenblatt, Senior Managing Director at law firm McKenna Long and Aldridge (MLA), remembers a 2010 meeting he had with current republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney here in Buckhead. Having been a key player in several successful campaigns at that point, Tanenblatt was there to discuss the campaign of Attorney General Sam Olens, whom Romney was endorsing.

Tanenblatt had arrived early to the breakfast meeting at the OK Cafe, and was surprised to see that Romney had arrived even earlier, already sitting down at a booth with a random person and engaged in conversation. Romney was asking questions of people at the popular Buckhead restaurant, eager to find out their thoughts after his unsuccessful presidential bid in 2008.

For Tanenblatt, a Buckhead resident for the past 20 years and current political advisor and National Finance Co-Chair for Romney’s presidential campaign, this situation was typical of the Mitt Romney he has come to know.

In Memoriam

On Saturday, the Georgia Republican was saddened by the unexpected loss of a true inspiration and pioneer for our Party, former Savannah Mayor Susan Weiner.

The first-ever female Mayor of Savannah, Susan served in office until 1995. Mrs. Weiner would then go on to lead Senator Paul Coverdell’s Good Government for Georgia Committee, and later was instrumental in the success of the Coverdell Leadership Institute. A memorial service will be scheduled for this fall in Atlanta, and more details will be shared as they are made available.

On behalf of the Georgia Republican family, our thoughts and prayers go out to all whom had the distinct pleasure of knowing Susan. May she rest in peace.

Last week, Georgia Republican Party Assistant Treasurer Toria Morgan addressed a group of students at Kennesaw State University who will be accompanying the GAGOP to the Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay, Florida! Help Lead the Charge Today!

The Georgia Republican Party is fully committed to electing a Republican President in 2012. However, Victory won’t be achieved simply because we won the last elections. Victory can only be achieved by working hard each and every day to win the next elections. President Obama and the Democrats are targeting Georgia and could spend as much as $30 million to win our state. There’s too much at stake to leave this election to chance. Please consider contributing $15, $25, $50 or any amount to help Georgia do its part to send Barack Obama back to Chicago!
