GAGOP Chairman Everhart Statement Calls on John Barrow to Denounce False Super PAC Ad

ATLANTA – Today, Georgia Republican Party Chairman Sue P. Everhart called on Representative John Barrow to denounce Super PAC Center Forward’s patently false ad that claims that Barrow’s opponent, State Representative Lee Anderson, “Signed a special interest pledge that keeps tax breaks for companies that ship out American Jobs.” Despite identical claims being previously debunked by both FactCheck.org and PolitiFact, John Barrow continues his refusal to denounce the falsehoods of his special interest fueled attack. Says Everhart:

“While Peach State voters continue to struggle under the burdens of the Obama-Barrow economy, Representative John Barrow has shown yet again that he is only concerned with one Georgian’s job – his own. In refusing to distance himself from a patently false and disingenuous attack on Lee Anderson, Congressman Barrow is doing a disservice to his constituents in Georgia’s 12th District and to voters all across our state who deserve a campaign focused on the issues, not mudslinging and distortion.

“I call on John Barrow to denounce this misleading Super PAC ad and focus instead on the well-being of his constituents. Simply put, Georgians deserve better.”
