Resolution Concerning the Appointment of Czars (2011)


WHEREAS, Article II Section 2 of the United States Constitution states, in part, regarding appointment powers of the U.S. President that “…the Congress may by Law vest the Appointment of such inferior Officers, as they think proper, in the President alone, in the Courts of Law, or in the Heads of Departments”; and

WHEREAS, Congressman Jack Kingston introduced HR 3226 in the previous session of Congress to address the issue of the appointment of “Czars” without the advice and consent of the Senate; therefore be it

RESOLVED that the Georgia Republican Party urges the Georgia Republican congressional delegation to reintroduce legislation requiring the President to obtain the advice and consent of the Senate for the appointment of “Czars”.
