From The Chairman’s Desk
On Tuesday night, I was joined on the floor of the 2012 Republican National Convention by 75 fellow Georgia Delegates. As a group, we had the great fortune of casting 72 votes for Governor Mitt Romney, who crossed the threshold and is now the official Republican presidential nominee! It was an exciting moment for our Party, and a monumental occasion for our nation. Later in the evening, we were privileged to hear from dozens of proud Republican leaders, including New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, rising star Mia Love of Utah and new Alabama Republican Artur Davis. One speech truly stood out, however, and that was delivered by Mrs. Ann Romney – the next First Lady of the United States of America! Ann spoke to the Convention not as an elected official or a politician, but rather as a patriot, a proud wife and a brave woman. The speech itself was remarkable, but the message within was truly inspiring. Let’s Cover Georgia: A Sign in Every Yard, a Sign on Every Corner This election is a battle for the core values of America. Do we want a country of and by Washington…or a nation of and by a free people? For us to continue to live in a free America, we MUST replace Barack Obama. The GAGOP is the only entity in the state fully committed to electing a Republican President. Help us spread our message to every corner of our state! With a contribution of just… $5, you can help buy three yard signs. $25, you can help buy fourteen yard signs. $100, you can help buy fifty-nine yard signs. And with a contribution of $1,000, you can help buy enough yard signs so that every Republican in an entire precinct can proudly display their strong Republican support! Let’s cover Georgia! Click here to help our Party put a sign in every yard across Georgia! Convention Update from Fulton GOP Chairman Roger Bonds

A total of 76 delegates represent Georgia at the convention in Tampa, Fl. Snellville Patch spoke with Hildebrand while she was on a short break in between speeches and events. Hildebrand hoped from the beginning that Paul Ryan would be a presidential candidate, so when she heard he was running as VP she couldn’t have been more excited. She hopes that the conversation during the debates will focus on the economy, which she feels the Democrats are attempting to avoid at all costs. In Memoriam This week, the Georgia Republican Party was deeply saddened by the loss of two dear friends and supporters, Howell Teasley and Joyce Borden. The father of State Representative Sam Teasley, Mr. Howell Teasley passed away last week in Blue Ridge. Writes Rep. Sam Teasley: “Dad’s life was marked by a consistent, humble walk with God. He lived out the message of the Gospel – he was committed to reconciliation with God in his own heart and to reconciling relationships here on earth. I have never known a more Godly man in his heart for people and in his actions and deeds. It has long been my aim as a husband, a father, and a man to live life the way he did.” The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Howell Teasley’s name to the Mountain Area Christian Academy. Joyce Borden, the mother of Georgia Republican Amy Borden, also passed away this week in Conyers. A precious mother and wife who will be greatly missed by all, Joyce loved music, books and was full of laughter and love. Please join the Georgia Republican Party in keeping the families and friends of of Howell and Joyce in your thoughts and prayers. May they rest in peace. If so, we would love to hear about the details and share them with Republicans all across Georgia! Send your events and photos to Chris Kelleher at Chris@gagop.org, and keep an eye out for your organization to be featured in a future GAGOP Newsletter! Help Lead the Charge Today! The Georgia Republican Party is fully committed to electing a Republican President in 2012. However, Victory won’t be achieved simply because we won the last elections. Victory can only be achieved by working hard each and every day to win the next elections. President Obama and the Democrats are targeting Georgia and could spend as much as $30 million to win our state. There’s too much at stake to leave this election to chance. Please consider contributing $15, $25, $50 or any amount to help Georgia do its part to send Barack Obama back to Chicago! |
