COL Mrozinski: National Security is the Center of Gravity in 2012
Posted by chris on Oct 23, 2012America is in a transition not by consent but by design. Just five days before the 2008 election, while Obama was hyping the hope and change rhetoric to the good people of Missouri, the show me State, we heard candidate Obama say: “we will change this country and we will change the world”. If you cross walk this exuberant statement with the inaugural speech you probably knew we were in for a rough ride. Years later your “world” had been changed alright, it was changed to the point that the word change has now become an avoided word all because a leader failed to understand that if you do not know how America was built or at least embraced the sacrifices that a great culture such as ours made in this melting pot called America, you would surely fail at what ever agenda you pursued.
You see, Obama made a fatal mistake; he believed his election would bring the change he and his handlers envisioned for decades, a government of rationed and limited expectations. Our Republic was always intended to assist in managing State affairs………not substituting for free will, initiative, and the talents of its people to build toward progress, not stagnation and backwardness. How does Mr. Obama achieve his utopia if he takes the heart out of reward and fruits of ones labor? Someone has to build it and he surely cannot lead us in that task. Now look where we are in history, more in debt, more enemies emboldened, more out of work, diplomacy weakened and in desperate need of familiar and new faces of strength to just return us to trust and worthiness again in the world. Not an easy task before us but we will persevere.
America’s service members, veteran’s and diplomats clearly understand that America’s strength and national security is built around four fundamental pillars called the DIME. The acronym clearly describes what we as a nation must regain and strengthen: D – Diplomatic; I – Information; M – Military; E- Economic. The Dime clearly and very quickly visualizes the peril we find ourselves in but the areas we must focus on to reduce our vulnerability and maintain strength through prosperity……….American jobs and productivity is the denominator here. Yes, the debt is daunting but we are Americans and no one can do the impossible as we can and will when President Romney and Vice President Ryan fill their chairs and take the helm. Through a comparative advantage approach, leveraging America’s potential and national wealth, we will regain the initiative, we will see our way out of the ditch this administration has driven us into. We are Americans.
We will survive this national nightmare because we have a core set of values that no other nation on earth has………a sense of paying forward to other generations through our charity, benevolence, sacrifice and foundation as a nation of immigrants and us their descendants. As veterans we have participated in protecting this nation and when called to do so, fight our nation’s wars and win. What we hear in our media and read in our internet cafes conversations that are lead by so called leaders who were never handed down family stories of heroic actions that allow us to be the People we are and hope to remain. The attempt to dilute out national heritage and traditions and replace it with an ‘anything goes’ governance is a threat to our very National Security and a weak signal to the world and those that mean us harm. For if we do not remind ourselves of how we became Americans and the sacrifices made to allow us to share in the fruit of our labor, we will be doing a disservice and dishonor to future generations of Americans that were fought for on the battlefields of Valley Forge and buried in military cemeteries across America and the world. We are a generous people and just people who will defend the down trotten and oppressed when called to do so. I know of no American who is not sickened when they hear of slaughter any where in the world…….it is in our political and compassionate DNA to defend and restore order because that is where we came from in the world that bonds us as a culture and a people under one Constitution and Rule-of-Law.
The current Administration has shaped an inner world in their image that reflects destruction of what defines the greatness of America. You see, our form of government is not the problem, the leadership is the problem that takes advantage of authority loaned by the people and sustained and ultimately defended by the United States Military. We are currently feed lines and platitudes by an Administration that places more stock in sociological manipulation than in allowing the best of its citizens to find their pursuit of happiness. We have witnessed a no holds barred attempt to dilute and balkanize America so its strengths and virtue can be isolated, contained, diminished and replaced with hopelessness and fear that will leave us begging for solace and security. When will history’s leaders understand that to have enduring progress you only have to propose the direction, not use subterfuge and deceit to achieve a proposed end state? We are still in control of our nation’s destiny if we all decide to envision it and will it so.
