Dear Friends,

Next weekend in Columbus, we will elect 31 At-Large Delegates and 31 At-Large Alternates to represent Georgia at the 2012 Republican National Convention. These At-Large Delegates and Alternates will join the District Delegates and Alternates to the National Convention that were elected back in April. All together, Georgia boasts 76 Delegates to this year’s Republican National Convention – the fourth-largest Delegation in the entire nation!

It was also announced last week that Georgia has been assigned to the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay as our Host Hotel for the duration of the 2012 Republican National Convention! The Georgia Republican Party will be coordinating the logistics of the Convention stay for our Delegation, and all elected Delegates and Alternates should work directly with the Party on securing all accommodations. More information will be forthcoming.

As a reminder, if you are elected as a Delegate or Alternate to the 2012 Republican National Convention, there will be a mandatory meeting immediately upon the adjournment of the State Convention in the Chattahoochee Room of the Columbus Civic Center. In addition to signing the oath, taking a photo, completing all paperwork and receiving additional pertinent information, each Delegate and Alternate must have a personal check or cashier’s check  for $400, made payable to the Georgia Republican Party; the payment must be from personal funds as non-federal funds are not permissible. If you are planning to have a guest at the National Convention, an additional $400 will be required for your guest.

This year’s Republican National Convention is shaping up to be the most exciting and invigorating gathering of Republicans in quite a while. The energy behind our Party’s efforts in 2012 is already building, and the possibilities for victory in November have never been greater.

I would also like to wish all prospective Delegates and Alternates At-Large good luck as we prepare to round out our Delegation next weekend in Columbus.
