Chairman’s Welcome: July 25, 2012

Dear Friends,

In 2008, Republicans from across the nation came together at the Republican National Convention in Minneapolis to deliberate, compile and ultimately approve the 2008 Republican Platform. This Platform has served as a guiding light for our Party, steering our achievements steadily over the past four years.

Serving as the pillars of the 2008 Republican Platform, the major tenets that our Party decided upon were: Defending Our Nation, Supporting Our Heroes, Securing the Peace; Reforming Government to Serve the People; Expanding Opportunity to Promote Prosperity; Energy Independence and Security; Environmental Protection; Health Care Reform: Putting Patients First; Education Means a More Competitive America; Protecting Our Families; and Preserving Our Values.

Now, with just one month left until we embark on the 2012 Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay, Florida, it is time for our Party to prepare a Platform that will once-again guide the Republican agenda and propel our Party to new heights!

Over the next month, the Republican National Committee, in conjunction with the Republican National Convention and the Republican Platform Committee, want to hear your voice! As Republican activists, leaders and voters, you are truly the engine that drives our Party forward; now, you have the opportunity to shape and craft our Party’s Platform as well!

To get started, simply visit www.gopplatform2012.com. From there, you will be able to share ideas, suggest changes and ultimately chart a new direction for our Party. More than ever, this is your Party – your input will be invaluable as we continue to build the GOP from the bottom up.

Reince Priebus, Chairman of the Republican National Committee, also weighed in, writing: “I am excited for the opportunity to work with our grassroots supporters to write our 2012 Republican Party Platform. It is the work of our activists that make our party vibrant and lasting. Republicans know that for the sake of this country, we must take a new direction and writing the platform is part of that process. President Obama’s big government agenda is bankrupting our country, destroying our economy, and hurting the middle class. I’m grateful for Governor Bob McDonnell of Virginia, Senator John Hoeven of North Dakota, and Representative Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee who will be leading this process. I look forward to working with them and all our activists as we write our platform and send Governor Mitt Romney to the White House.”

So what are you waiting for? Visit www.gopplatform2012.com and get started today! I look forward to hearing Georgia’s input for the 2012 Republican Platform!

All my best,

Sue
